Longboat Key Beaches

on the Gulf of Mexico in Sunny SW Florida

Savor luxurious exclusivity…at this vacation Eden!

Stretching between the Gulf of Mexico and serene Sarasota Bay, Longboat Key is positioned just south of Anna Maria Island and north of Lido Key. There are no billboards, neon signs or shopping malls but, tastefully hidden behind manicured landscapes are an array of resorts, up-scale shops and Zagat Rated restaurants.

Many beaches are privately held for residents and guests staying at a beachfront condominium or resort, however, there are two public beaches at the northern tip. Fringed by sea oats is Whitney Beach where the crowd-less shore attracts sunbathers, walkers and shell seekers. Heading north from Whitney and accessible only at low tide is Beer Can Island; a secluded sandy hook where boaters often congregate. Then extending southward for eleven miles is Longboat Key Beach offering public access points from Gulf Drive.

Sand dollars are plentiful at low tide and sunsets are breathtaking.
